Melissa
June is a phenomenal vocalist. Born in Illinois and raised in Minnesota,
Melissa started singing in church choir at the age of 9 and has been singing
ever since. After attending Music Tech, (now known as McNally Smith College of
Music) where she earned an Applied Associates Degree in Music Performance,
Melissa June started to pursue her professional career.
She has sung and performed with such artists
as Bruce Henrys gospel group, the
Rebekka Fisher band, Markiss and the Glorious Vagabonds, Barbara LeShoure,
Deevo, and many other top artists around the twin cities. She has also sung
background vocals for the group Conrtist on their album, Entrapment.
Melissa June started her own band in 2004. The
Melissa June Band played various
locations around the twin cities area doing cover songs until late 2005.
Melissa moved to Baltimore, Maryland in October
of 2006. By
making this move she hoped to further her career by writing and recording
original songs. In the process she also sang background vocals for local artists. At the end of 2007 Melissa moved to
Atlanta Georgia to take advantage of numerous opportunities to further her
career.
